Would that I had the energy and good cheer of a 4 year-old first thing in the morning.

Cheerleaders gone bad.

Imagine what would have happened if the banner had Obama, Hillary or the name of any one of the 212 Candidates running for the Democrat nomination for President written on it?

Kosh,

i tried to do the “open in new window” on that link,...

i must have done it wrong.

I am trying to do this on an iPad and the interface is difficult for selecting “open in a new window”.

When I copy a link from the URL bar and then paste into a comment box, there is no obvious option to choose to make the link open in a new window. It pastes in as a live link that looks good to go. I have to klick on the link in the comment box to open up a dialogue box to change the settings.

is there a way to make it a default setting for the blog that a link pasted into a comment box will be set to open in a new window automatically?

The software I used is supposed to be mobile-friendly, but I guess the editor may not be, and iPads might be different, too. I don't have one to test. Well, I still have an original one from an employer a few years ago, but I doubt that would be a good system to test on.

Sometime, I'll look up more on it. For now, making it easier to register, and being able to reset passwords is more important.

Does the editor have a toolbar on the iPad? If so, tap the link icon, and that brings up a dialog where you paste the URL, and it has a check box for open in new window, which I think is set by default or it remembers your selection.

The toolbar on the editor does show up on Android phone. Link icon is two circles connected, links on a chain, next to image icon

Trying again. Link pasted had stuff in it

We're not about to die

I did have to move the dialog to find the button to insert it

UK  police stop publishing photos of confiscated pointy things, in order to not frighten people, or in order to reduce the mockery of them, take your pick:

One wonders if the British police have realized that they are the laughing stock of the world.

That's because the self-defense courses only go through defending against fresh fruit; they don't even cover pointed sticks, as this video shows

Dems shoot themselves in foot.

Biden's campaign might end over Ukrainegate - which, of course, was aimed at Trump.

Ricochet.

Nunes, speaking to anchor Maria Bartiromo, said a whistleblower's allegation that President Trump had acted inappropriately during a July 25 phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will ultimately backfire, and shine a light on Biden's own possible misconduct. CNN later acknowledged that the whistleblower had no first-hand knowledge of the call, and a top Ukrainian official on Saturday defended Trump's actions.

"Says Devin Nunes," meaning he's just trying to demoralize the Biden team. There is no way Biden will quit before the primaries, partly because he genuinely doesn't understand what the big deal is. Nor will this hurt him with Dem voters. They hear, "blah blah blah blah Trump" - they neither know nor care what really happened. Meanwhile, normal people will become increasingly alarmed as the facts come out. Read the New Yorker article - the author tries desperately to put the best spin possible on Hunter's actions and it's still damning.

Pelosi is demanding Trump hand over the "whistleblower" report. She'd better be careful what she wishes for. Someone overheard something, allegedly, and there is no proof whatsoever to back it up.

Biden will lose eventually. The others will lose against Trump worse.

BTW, a Boston Herald op-ed piece said former (D) Mass. governor Deval Patrick should run. I hope not - he could beat Trump more likely than anyone else the Dems are running. He gets the cachet of Obama, but is not as much a socialist, nor does he hate Israel the same way. (He took more and friendlier trips to Israel as governor, asking Israeli companies to locate their US operations in Mass. He succeeded. Of course, when one medical company said they were locating in Mass because if they could get Mass General Hospital to use their products, it would be a great endorsement and they could sell more easily to other hospitals, you can see that Patrick's job wasn't that difficult)

I think it's too late for anyone to get in unless they're self-funded and have very high name recognition. Even then - I saw something the other day about Tom Steyer's candidacy and I'm like, who, him? He's running?

Tom Steyer is, iirc, a big Democrat donor pushing for impeachment and green energy, even though he made his money on fossil fuels.

Hillary Clinton will never, ever, be the Democratic nominee, let alone president.

British bets are not American votes. Must be a bunch of yabbos betting on her.

Michele Obama has a bigger chance of being the nominee than Clinton.
