Morning, campers. Not going to be at work long today; the son has developed a serious problem and I need to do a few things here and then head home and help take care of him. This is serious enough that if we can't get this under control, he will need to go to the hospital. So I'm work an hour early to try and get the most critical things done so I can take the rest of the day off.

Prayers, for those of you of a praying sort, would be greatly appreciated.

Has anyone read the transcript of Trump's call with the president of Ukraine? No quid pro quo, no threats to withhold funding, nothing but a mutual desire to investigate corruption. Trump simply asks Zelensky to look into rumors that Biden pressured the former prosecutor to stop the investigation into his son, which Biden himself "went around bragging about," as Trump puts it. Zelensky is eager to help, assures Trump there's a new prosecutor general (equivalent to an attorney general, I gather), and asks for any additional information Trump may have. In other words, exactly what Trump said they discussed.

Now where's the "whistleblower's" complaint?

Hiding under his desk, trying to find more reasons to impeach Trump.

While Pelosi has been trying to reign in her party's thirst for impeachment publicly, privately she has been supporting impeachment all along; she set up the rules for the House in January with impeachment in mind. Yesterday, she apparently felt she had enough justification to really go after impeachment to start supporting the others (e.g. Nadler) who have been screaming it all along.

But I notice that Trumps' release of the transcript had Pelosi pointedly saying yesterday, "No, the transcript doesn't change anything." I'm expecting her to start saying that the words alone don't show the tone that Trump spoke in, and the tone is what makes this an impeachable offense.

Some are saying that AOC and her grrrrrl power group are really the ones calling the shots in the house now, but I'm not buying it. Chakrabarti, AOC's former chief of staff and the Justice Democrat powerhouse who helped to get her elected, has been out of that position for over a month, and I wondered if someone in Pelosi's circle was acting as her arm to get him out. Everything I have been able to find has shown that Pelosi still knows the ins and outs of being the majority party in the House better than anyone else. She seems quite willing to use any procedural rule or trick to stack things in favor of the Dems.

Can we call it a hearsay complaint?

The "whistleblower" had no direct knowledge of the call from everything I've seen.

The (D)s have stepped on the ole crank in golf shoes I think.

Here's a nice article pointing out some issues with Greta Thunberg not covered anywhere else that I am aware of.

She has an IMBD entry and listed as "actress". The kid who had the meltdown for Harris also had an acting background.

"and listed as "actress""

If this were a movie, the credits would list her as "Swivel-Eyed Loon #1".

Read the transcript.

The discussion was about corruption which affected both countries. Biden and Hunter were mentioned once, referencing Biden's bragging about having the prosecutor fired.

As they say, nothing burger.

Adam Schiff is saying that Trump used a mafia style shakedown in his communication with the Ukrainian president.  Oy

He said it on video that's readily available, though I can't find the link at the moment. Things are going to get even more interesting - Trump and Zelensky are meeting at the UN today.

From the settled science files.

A Clean Kill of the Carbon Dioxide-Driven Climate Change Hypothesis?

Sometime after 1980, a new paradigm emerged, suggesting that Phanerozoic Eon climate change had largely been     driven by CO2 (Royer et al., 2004). The model was that the weathering rates of silicate rocks governed the atmospheric     concentration of CO2 (Berner & Kothavala, 2001) and that CO2 was the “control knob” for temperature. Well, this     paradigm may have just taken a bullet to the head.

Is Theory on Earth’s Climate in the Last 15 Million Years Wrong?
Rutgers-led study casts doubt on Himalayan rock weathering hypothesis
September 22, 2019

A key theory that attributes the climate evolution of the Earth to the breakdown of Himalayan rocks may not explain the cooling over the past 15 million years, according to a Rutgers-led study.
