In the past few days I am seeing things out there. This whole Covid BS is starting to impact people for the stupidest things. When the Squire and I got tested there were several family groups there getting the tests as well. Schools are panicking with the spring sniffles and don't want to take any chances or risks. Employers aren't being lenient as well. Everyone is sick of the lockdowns and restrictions and are starting to ignore health department diktates. This could be very good or very bad. Not to mention I heard a rumour that if someone dies of vaccine complications their life insurance won't cover them since the so-called vaccine is considered experimental. Don't know if that's true or not but if it is....

Reply to PaladinPhil in 10: Even my wife is starting to question a lot of the made up rules. She was told today that corporate denied her sick time while we were waiting for test results. She just screamed out the door to get to work fuming like a mad woman. Doesn't matter that we had directions from the local public health unit that we all had to isolate while the Squire was waiting for his test results. And it didn't matter that corporate DEMANDED that we get a negative test before we returned to work. Too bad, so sad, you're out of pocket on this one prole.

As I've mentioned before, I see people walking/jogging outside, wearing their face-diapers, along the major avenue where I live, weaving in and out of parked cars, INTO the (quite busy) avenue, in order to avoid coming near pedestrians on the sidewalk. This, presumably, for the sake of, um, "safety". On Saturday, I saw parent playing with their kids, in the middle of a big, nearly-empty park, on a breezy day... everyone wearing a cloth mask. Sights and wonders. it's quite an age we live in.

BAN FACE MASKS!

You know for the environment! California groups track face masks, gloves bound for ocean PACIFICA, Calif. (AP) — Disposable masks, gloves and other types of personal protective equipment are safeguarding untold lives during the coronavirus pandemic. They're also creating a worldwide pollution problem, littering streets and sending an influx of harmful plastic and other waste into landfills, sewage systems and oceans.

I heard this talking point being recycle (get it?) on NPR not long ago. And of course, what they were suggesting was... we should all wear masks, yes, but the utterly useless cloth ones. They want us to be in a continuous panic over Covid-19; and, simultaneously, to take "safety measures" that are useless and ritualistic.

And, of course, she's free to do so. I also understand a bit more if someone whose business brings her into contact with a lot of different people might opt to continue wearing one (my cleaning ladies do, too).

Seeing many used masks in store parking lots, boat landing/fishing areas, parks, etc. We even had one blow into our yard; that was disgusting, having to pick up somebody else's used/dirty mask. The thing I hate the most is when somebody uses a towelette to wipe off their shopping cart handle before use and then leaves the dirty thing in the cart for the next person to dispose of.

Here's some excellent news I missed earlier. Remember that insane Yale psychiatrist Bandy X Lee? She's the one who spent four years tweeting about Trump's supposed mental illness in violation of the Goldwater Rule. Last January she defamed Alan Dershowitz, implying he was psychotic, and he complained. Yale fired her last May, and now she's suing them. I'll be over in the corner, gloating.

According to the article, the Dean of the Department of Psychiatry wrote to her and told her she had violated the Goldwater rule. However, she hasn't been a member of the APA since 2007 so presumably they didn't have the authority to censure her. The next step IMO is for the State of Connecticut to yank her medical license. I would love to hear what her former students and patients have to say about her.

Report: Boulder shooter swore allegiance to ISIS, targeted 'Jewish store' However, Loomered.com reported that the King Soopers market targeted by the shooter is known as a “Jewish store” with a majority Jewish clientele due to the large supply of kosher items the store carries. King Soopers website indeed advertises the grocery chain as “Your One-Stop Shop For Kosher Groceries.” The store is also included on a Vaad Hakashrus of Denver list of stores that carry kosher items. So, when will this be in the MSM?

In #43 Kosh's Shadow said: is known as a “Jewish store” with a majority Jewish clientele Hmm. I think that might be overstating things. As I've mentioned, I've been to that store (while visiting a friend in Boulder) on a few occasions. It's basically a big, pretty nice neighborhood grocery store - I don't recall anything specifically "Jewish" about it. I have no doubt they have a kosher food selection - just as my neighborhood Safeway does. The shooter may have targeted it out of some perception of it being "Jewish", I don't know, of course; but my recollection is that this is very much just a big, general supermarket.

Reply to Occasional Reader in 45: Most stores around here have a fairly small kosher section - maybe a segment or 2 of a rack. A few have larger sections, of half an aisle or an entire one, and a few bays of frozen and refrigerated areas. These are not that common, though. (Closest for me is around 30 miles away, as opposed to several supermarkets in a 10 mile radius) While this isn't Boulder, Colorado, it isn't DC, either. If Boulder doesn't have a large Jewish population that keep kosher, most stores might not carry much in the way of kosher food.
