Happy Friday everyone. Sorry to ignore the site, but I had a host of things I had to get done before I could take a few days off. And I’ve sort of ignored the news, which has done wonders for my blood pressure and my state of mind.

Just had the mixing valve on our hot water tank fixed. The hot water was enough to burn, and the mixing valve wouldn't turn. After he unjammed it (I tried but did not want to break it and have an emergency off hours repair call), he had me run the water. I used a cooking thermometer to measure the temperature - 119.6. Before it got too hot, it was 124. I asked what the correct temperature was - 120; so this is close enough. He had been adjusting it by holding the water pipe and feeling the temperature - and got it right on.
