When I was in college, we had my paternal grandmother live with us - then she did not recognize my mother, and threatened to call the police. She had to go to an old age home, and passed away 2 weeks later.

Many years after that, my mother had to go to a home; I visited frequently. She passed away.

We went places with my father - he had worked (carpenter) at BU, and my daughter had a lacrosse league there, so we took him. Later, one summer, he had problems due to the heat. I had put an air conditioner in a bedroom, but he hated AC. So he went from one place to another. I would get kosher chicken and cut it up, and bring it to where he was, where they would feed him all week. The next place had better food, but he didn't want to eat much.

Hard, but you will have the memories later.
