I read PJMedia most mornings to get news stories to share, and in today's Morning Briefing by Kruiser is one great line that pretty much sums up a former presidential candidate: "Since the Democrats weren't debating this year, we didn't get to enjoy hearing Marianne Williamson go into great detail about how her foreign policy initiatives would be carried out by Celtic fairies bearing elderflower tea and sustainably sourced vegan bon-bons." That just really encapsulates her pretty well, methinks.

This is nuts: The Trump Bible Is on Sale The text of the Bible is the King James, and the Bible includes the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and a few other things. While Trump makes no money on this directly, he was paid to endorse the product and have his name on it. The looks horrible, and just feeds into the Christian Dominionist nonsense. I just want to walk up to Trump and slap him silly for this.

NBC News Dumps Ronna McDaniel After Staff Revolt The former head of the RNC got fired, tried to move into a media position as so many in politics do, but the liberal staff at NBC went bonkers. Shades of the New York Times after the Cotton editorial (not a job--just a column).

Someone at Insty yesterday posted a tweet purporting to be from Lara Logan, in which she claims that 'intelligence sources" had told her that the Key Bridge disaster was a carefully-planned cyberattack (presumably, to cut the power on the Dali at just the right moment). I don't entirely discount the possibility, but I'm skeptical. She also got a bit hysterical in the tweet (assuming it was really Logan), saying "they've managed to cut the country along the Mason-Dixon Line, just like in the Civil War." Um, dearie... it's just one bridge. An important one, yes, but just one bridge. it's not even part of the principal I-95 Mid-Atlantic/Northeast route; I've been doing the DC-NY-DC drive multiple times a year for over a quarter century, and I've never been on that bridge. Nor did it carry Amtrak's Northeast Corridor service (despite what Joe Biden says).

"I say it's a trap — and they fell into it ... he's getting free PR from his antagonists. Not only are they raising awareness of this buyable item, they are displaying their own disgust — if not horror — at the sacred object." Got to say, he does know a thing or two about free PR and how the MSM will jump on anything he says or does.

Activist Clergy in Boston Want $15 Billion in Slavery Reparations From ‘White Churches' White Churches? What denomination would that exactly be? One of the comments: "There were thousands of “slaves” in Massachusetts, but they were mostly white “bond servants” who could work off their slavery and eventually become free. I wonder if that makes the Irish qualify for reparations." From the article: "Imagine being a Catholic in Boston who is descended from Irish people who came to America with nothing after slavery was abolished and now being told that your church is on the hook for reparations. Does that make any sense?" I'm starting to think things are never going to get any better, are they?

Reply to Alice in Dairyland in 12: If I remember my history MA was staunchly abolitionist and legally slave free in the 18th Century. I think the "clergy" are barking up the wrong tree.

Reply to JCM in 13: One of the comments there: "Black Slaves were never used as general purpose labor, in Massachusetts, the total number of slaves was around 5k and slavery was outlawed in 1788 and by 1790, there were 0 slaves in Massachusetts." Not to mention "White Churches" were one of the strongest supporters of the abolishment movement.

Headline at Fox.... Cargo ship had Hazardous Containers. Seriously people? A ship that is a 10k TEU, Twenty foot Equivalent Unit. I would be shocked if it didn't have hazardous cargo.

They are simply following the bouncing ball of money--if you see others claiming that they should get free stuff and it happens, then you will simply be conditioned to do the same. You get more of what you pay for.

So what am I owed from, I dunno, "black churches", based on the two black guys who tried to mug me in NYC in 1994? Or the one who threatened me here in DC this past July? "Where's my dollah?", in the immortal words of the Smartest POTUS In The History Of Everything.

That just really encapsulates her pretty well, methinks. And to think she is saner than most of the Democratic candidates.
