In honor of Juneteenth, let's discuss places that still have Black slaves

When Did the Left First Go Woke? When They Betrayed Black Slaves

Note I have met Dr. Charles Jacobs.

a better topic than I found to start my morning:

https://www.engadget.com/more-than-1000-students-pledge-not-to-work-at-google-and-amazon-due-to-project-nimbus-042439081.html?src=rss

No Tech for Apartheid (NOTA), a coalition of tech workers demanding big tech companies to drop their contracts with the Israeli government, is close to reaching its goal for a campaign asking students not to work with Google and Amazon. As Wired reports, more than 1,100 people who identified themselves as STEM students and young workers have taken the pledge to refuse jobs from the companies "for powering Israel's Apartheid system and genocide against Palestinians."

Well they better stop using Netflix, Twitch, Facebook, and many other platforms are hosted on AWS.

AWS runs on custom chips designed by Annapurna Labs a Israeli subsidiary.

This is the first time I ever heard of "Juneteenth"---and I had no idea what the heck they were talking about:

The Juneteenth Jamboree

What gets skipped in the Juneteenth narrative?

That it was Union Soldiers under Gen. Granger enforcing the Emancipation Proclamation.

Anyone still here for some jukeboxes? Today where I work was closed (but had to take a day PTO because my contract house doesn't include it) and I'm taking the rest of the week off, too.

Today I took my wife's car for air conditioner repair. $$$$$ but at least it is fixable. The last time I had a problem (different car) it was the evaporator, which requires removing the dashboard, and NO ONE wanted to do it. Way too much trouble. Car still ran fine so I got a decent trade-in and someone who can tolerate heat got a great running car.
