Wake Up!
I am totally unprepared for Christmas. Today is going to be a pain in the ass.

NPR this morning had a long item on the sad, sorry condition of the Wives of ISIS, stuck in some benighted camps in Syria.  These are women from the West---England, Australia, maybe South Africa, and possibly the US (though they soft-pedaled those) as well as other countries---who'd followed their men (or, in some cases, come on their own) to participate in the glorious caliphate.

Somehow, I was able to contain my sympathy.

Just a reminder for anyone that is confused by this, Adam Schiff is a Democrat, not a Republican.

Just sayin.

i am ok with never letting them back in the US.

There should be consequences for being that stupid.

One girl has already been denied entry to the US. She was born here, but her father was a diplomat, so she does not have birthright citizenship.

I am sure that Mitch has Lawyers all over this impeachment thing.

I am in agreement with Prof. Turley’s argument that no formal “delivery” of the impeachment document is required for the Senate to act.

I wonder how the calculations are going on this thing. Are Mitch and company all laughing in their sleeves at this, opting to pretend for a while that Nancy can hold this thing up? Does it help the Republicans to drag this thing out? Or is Mitch just using this time to line up the votes and process to get this thing over quick at a time of his choosing? Or all of the above?

i remember seeing something about that a short while back.

I feel for the child. That is a rough place to be. The mother needs to never be allowed in the US.

Perhaps this calls for a reprise of my Gilbert and Sullivan take from a couple years back on a story about three British Muslim school girls who headed out to Syria in pursuit of jihad glory with their Isis “husbands”:

Three little maids from school are we

Headed to the Levant to be jihadis

We are filled to the brim with Salafist screeds

Three little maids from school

Waging holy war will be so much fun

Whether servicing our fighter, or his gun

When he’s rendered a dronesplat, we’ll be bummed

Three little maids are foolss

Pelosi is trying to dictate terms of the Senate Trial to the Senate.

What I would do as Majority Leader is respond by dictating to The House what is require to be in the Articles of Impeachment.

That game could be played for a very long time.

Now, ISIS does also have a Lord High Executioner...

And he has a little list of infidels that will very much be missed

That's pretty cool, too.

My art/portfolio/calligraphy mentor in college used to do book design work for their catalogs.  When a new job came in, he'd say, "I got the Heebie-Jeebies again!"

One more shift to complete, then it's Christmas break for me. Hate the night shifts with a passion. Only managed about 6 hours sleep today total. Even took some pills to help me sleep. Just eight more hours to go...

There's a bittersweet element for me in the black and white picture; it was taken just before Chanukah in 1954, and my older brother---the guy in the engineer overalls, on the right---died on the second night of Chanukah that year.
