That was the old raaaacist America where black slaves were expected to serve you.

In the new America, you have to loot your breakfast.

Actually, I’d say more the opposite is true. “Free” breakfast is a lot more common at European and Latin American hotels then at American ones, in my experience.

Federal agents in Portland have had permanent wtw damage due to blinding lasers being used by leftist rioters.

Anyone pointing a laser at law enforcement needs to be treated like someone pointing a firearm at law enforcement. If you get my drift. And yes, I am serious.

European free breakfast has a lot more cheese and cold cuts than I expected. I thought it would be all tiny pastries and coffee.

A little Old Testament justice would be appropriate IMO. These people are sociopaths.

The breakfast in Israel (Dan Intercontinental) had a lot of smoked fish and fish salad. (Around 2000, on a business trip; worked for a joint Israeli/American company, but it was a 10 day trip, so I took my wife and we had time to go to Jerusalem and other significant places)

BTW, the hotel was across the street from the Dolphinarum nightclub, bombed maybe a year later,

The justification for use of lethal force is reasonable fear of death or serious injury.

I would say blinding is serious injury.

If I'm on the a police line and see a laser spot on me or a fellow officer.

My immediate assumption should be that it is a laser sight.

absolutely. This needs to be met with lethal force or the use of the lasersby these scumbags will expand.

And actually, the only value BLM places on any black lives is their propaganda value. Like all true Marxists, there is no value to individual lives; only what they can do for the movement.

Interesting link, which I just got from a page at Instapundit. I know nothing about this organization but I thought I would pass it along. Given the times, this at least seems like a good idea.

My God, but do I hate this summer. Heat index is currently 95. Strong chance of sudden pop-up thunderstorms. Air quality is low. So, not much fun taking a kid outside for any stretch of time. And of course all the big, fun, indoor, air-conditioned venues are closed.

OR, did you see this via Insty? I think the author speaks for a lot of people in big cities all over the country.

Goodbye, Washington D.C.

that certainly resonates. Clearly the author was living downtown, which I always thought was a bad idea. things have not gotten anywhere near that bad where I live. But the city as a whole is clearly on a downward trend, and I am certainly thinking about next moves. It really depends on what work does in terms of continuing to allow generous teleworking.

But folks like him who leave the cities will go to where they feel safe, and then so will the protesters because even they won't feel safe in the cities and will go to where people like him are.

I'm glad your neighborhood has not been much affected. Everything in that article reminds me why I don't live in a big city. My area is sort of semi-urban, I live in the part that's closer to Atlanta and has dense housing and a lot of office space, but the rest of it is traditionally suburban.

But they will find people outside the cities aren't quite as welcoming to thugs, and the government is more willing to defend them.

The author is obviously pretty wealthy (and kind of a snob, TBH). The protesters can't afford to move out to some idyllic suburb where they would need a car. He makes the point that when he and his fellow consumers leave town, they take their tax dollars and discretionary spending elsewhere. The knock-on effect on small businesses would be devastating.

Boston hasn't been that much affected, but I live outside the 495 belt, where someone can drive a truck with a big Trump flag and not get it burned.

(see the picture above)

In fact, I see almost no Biden signs. Trump, or "Any sane adult", but few Biden signs.

Yep.  But his points are definitely valid. I feel quite sorry for my friends who bought high dollar homes downtown over the last few years. I think they are well and truly f**cked.

A quarter century of hard fart progress in blue city America has been thrown into the trash in the space of a couple of months. And the left, who make up the vast majority of the inhabitants of those cities, have done so with absolute glee. They are literally insane.
