Reply to Occasional Reader in 10:I We have oil heat - but it needs electricity to run. (pumps, blowers, controls) AND it produces less CO2 than burning fossil fuels, making electricity, and bringing the electricity to us. Just keeping the upstairs at 60 degrees costs more than air conditioning the entire house. We got an estimate for running oil heat to the 2nd floor - $5000, IF they could do it once they opened the walls.
