Which in no way stops a certain strain of commenter on some of the "conservative" websites incessantly reiterating that it does, mostly in the form of them talking about American politicians (mostly, but not all, Jews) "sending Americans to fight wars for Israel."

Which does remind me of a barber I went to as a teenager - he had numbers tattooed on his forearm. That was after we moved; before that, I went to Leonard Nimoy's father.
