Re the Idiocracy  video in the previous thread (which I'll view later)

I had a dream within the last few days that I was in a kind of idiocracy world. There was some sort of accident with a drone and the person running the drone handed me the controller just as the police arrived, so I was determined to be guilty of murder. I was to be sent somewhere, but they did nothing to send me there - I became a nonperson, canceled.

And I wondered how so much still worked and realized there were people who were intelligent and running things - they just were where I was to be sent; nonpersons; canceled.

I think the correct ending of that would be to let everyone else go to the hell they made, but I woke up.

Submitted for consideration:

Psychologists have been saying for years that physical punishment for children causes the children to develop improperly.

During the same time, the crime rate has gone up.

And we've been told any real punishment is bad, so the crime rate went up faster.

Certainly physical punishment can be taken too far, but does anyone think these are connected?

Dr. Spock, do you find this logical?

The employment rate of psychologists and social workers.

BTW, I have a cousin who was a social worker until she got fed up - she'd have welfare recipients that she'd try to set up with training for employment, and they'd refuse the training.

On the way back from CVS I went by one of the cheaper gas stations and filled up.

My car computer indicated my mileage since the last fill-up was 41.9 MPG. Not bad for a fully gasoline car, not a hybrid.
