I have it on good authority from someone in the thread below that If we all run in circles in full panic mode, we will be way to busy to drop dead. Screaming is optional.

I did all my panic buying about a month ago so I am in good shape. The water shortage in the stores surprised me a bit. We live in a rain forest, the tap water is just fine and it is one of the few infrastructure it ms that does not require a lot of personnel to keep running.

People like to panic. People, generally, enjoy being a little bit frightened. that is why horror movies sell so well. I think that half the problem with the Wuhan Virus Panic is that people are kind of enjoying the excitement of being in a largely safe crisis.

Will or will there not be a Biden/Sanders debate? Place your bets.

Reply to midwestgak in 4: The only way that Biden would debate Bernie at this point is if he is asleep at the switch,....so I am going to say there is still a chance

Of course there will be a debate. They're both shills, and the script demands they both dodder up to the podium to prove to the rubes that Biden is still alive.

“The cold and flu season” ends in May. Trump will have an opportunity to claim credit for beating the Virus. The Democrats will hate that.

Biden still won’t be able to draw any sizable crowds after the panic is over in May.

Biden might be better of to change his campaign slogan to “get off of my lawn!” or “old man yells at clouds”.

Reply to JCM in 9: Oddly, I don't mind listening to him speak. I couldn't bear Obama or GWB, let alone Bill Clinton. Trump was subdued tonight, appropriately. The funny thing is, he's terrible at reading the teleprompter but great off the cuff - the exact opposite of Obama.

Reply to Syrah in 17: They've only had 460 cases. I think they've got a better handle on it than, say, Italy. That could change, of course. I'm not worried about my son and his family. They live in a very small town that's not a tourist destination. They go to Cambridge every week for my granddaughter's Russian class and I'm hoping they stop for now - lots of international visitors there.

Reply to doppelganglander in 22: Clementine (updated) Since the trend is towards “transgender” And has been so for some time A young minor sans vagina Declared he was “Clementine” You must call me, you must call me You must call me “Clementine”— Though my given name is Clement You must call me “Clementine.” He said he was “non-binary” Hewing to the party line And he’d frown at the wrong pronoun Because he was “Clementine” You must call me, you must call me You must call me “Clementine”— Though my given name is Clement You must call me “Clementine.” With hormone blockers and fake knockers, Litigation for a time, The court system did assist him In becoming “Clementine” You must call me, you must call me You must call me “Clementine”— Though my given name is Clement You must call me “Clementine.” But alas for our heroine! Eventually he did find Drugs and trimmin’ don’t make women Deep down, he was masculine Oh my darling, oh my darling, Oh my darling “Clementine”— What’s cut off is gone forever Dreadful sorry, Clementine.

Reply to buzzsawmonkey in 26: A bit off topic, or is it? A 20-ish year old woman at the store (dressed in 70s color-style tights and hair having various shades of pink and purple) met an acquaintance in the self checkout area. After a brief recognition, The woman announced to the acquaintance, "This is my son, Ed-iquette." A fine name for a boy, no?

Reply to midwestgak in 27: BTW, back in the days when I was working at Lane Bryant, we'd routinely get women storming out of the dressing rooms, saying, "I'm not going to change next door to that!" Lane Bryant, since it catered to the "plus sizes," was a favorite shopping destination for drag queens.

Reply to Kosh's Shadow in 29: The most underreported story of the primaries. Georgia isn't even having a Republican primary, but in those states that are, Trump is racking up more votes than he did in 2016. People are coming out for a purely symbolic vote to show support for the President. Extraordinary.
