I'm actually glad Mom didn't survive to deal with the current lunacy---the more so since someone who'd I'd met in her assisted-living facility (a Holocaust survivor, yet!) recently died, at age 96, in the nearby hospital, of coronavirus. 

I know about this because the woman we'd hired as Mom's aide/assistant---one of the most stellar human beings I've met in recent years---is now working as a nurse's aide in that hospital, thanks to a friend of Mom's; was assigned to work the "virus floor," and was, therefore, working there as the hospital let that poor woman drag out her life in agony over a couple of days.

It's possible, I suppose---but the elderly are by nature more susceptible, and---my reputation as a conspiracy theorist notwithstanding---I resist such thoughts.

I tend to avoid conspiracy theories, but even the 5-nation intelligence report linked this to Chinese research. I don't think it was deliberate, but an accidental release of something China was working on;

The panic over it says they know more than they are letting out
