I'm glad to live 40 miles or so out of Boston. If we had riots here, everyone reading about it would be wondering where this place is.

Often, I give the neighboring towns and people don't know where they are.

Besides, I think a higher percentage of the population are armed. I know our neighbors hunt.

Saw a  show on the Old West where the James Gang tried to rob a town. Unfortunately for them, they picked the first day of hunting season, when the general store had just stocked up on guns. The store let everyone use the guns and the gang got driven off.
