In my small burb of 7,500 or so, the downtown area is two blocks of businesses (restaurants, floral shops, hair salons, bars and a few others).

They have ALL been closed these many weeks, a few are opening so I was delighted to see a road closure sign for 3 pm today.  It means the block will be closed to traffic for the classic car display, right?  Things are getting back to normal, right?

Instead the closure was for a group of highschool-aged protesters (maybe 50 youngsters) led by a few older protesters chanting loudly  "black lives matter" carrying  signs with the same message parading round and round the block.  Police cars at each intersection to protect their parading, lights a flashing.

Lasted about an hour and a half.

What struck me was the age of the "protesters." Looked like a school outing with a few chaperones.

What annoyed me was the traffic/parking disruption and that it was staged in front of my apartment entryway!!!

So the US didn't elect the swamp's chosen candidate. We got Russiagate, and that flopped. COVID, and Trump was still doing well. Now riots.

Sometimes, I wonder if COVID destroys the ability to think logically, and then I realize that virus is modern academia.

I mean, "defund the police"? Who will that hurt? The rich who can  afford private security, or the poor who will see thugs stealing the little they have, and making it impossible for stores to operate in their neighborhoods?

Fine. Defund the Beverly Hills police. When the celebrities find their cars stolen and their homes invaded, they'll be crying for the police again.

At least some black community leaders are still sane, I posted on that last night.

My next project needs to be an AI for this site so I'll have "someone" to interact with.

Sorry Kosh, but I'm just not good company right now.  Anger and depression are the only things I feel right now.  My mother always told me "if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all".  It took 64 years, but I'm finally starting to listen to her words of wisdom.

I can't even read the news any more. It is coup or COVID

And I have to go into work (at least there is no traffic - 35 minutes instead of over a hour, as long as I don't get run over by someone going 80 in a 45 zone) but no one is there.

I have zoom (zoom.gov, actually) at work with people mostly working from home
