Kosh's Shadow in reply to JCM's #8 from yesterday:

This won't last. Hamas will pretend to disband, attack Israel, and claim the Israeli response is breaking the "ceasefire"
Witkoff needs to become a hostage - If the Palis attack, he lives the way the hostages did. And all his money goes to Israel.
I am quite disappointed with Trump. He has been listening to the wrong advisors.

Does the impact of Qatar being involved in the discussions help at all? Not having studied all the peace talks over the years, I don't know how often Qatar has supported the plans--but I have to believe they have been involved in the past, and that leads me to agree with you on this. Everyone on the right is celebrating just like they did with Carter's peace plan, when Hamas has never shown itself to be a reliable negotiating partner.

well, to put it mildly.

Their entire raison d’etre is the genocidal destruction of Israel.

How many times do politicians have to pretend otherwise before they get it through their skulls?

Hamas is low on everything needed for a conflict. Peace deal gives them a breather, allows for resupply for a new offensive.

If Kamala had got this deal, she'd already be in Olso collecting a peas prize.

I think this article shows that this "peace" deal won't last long

Gazans celebrate "peace deal" by chanting “Khaybar, Khaybar, ya Yehud”, a call for the slaughter of Jews

Yeah, but it's a peaceful slaughter.

Almost certainly true, although the question becomes, will the leadership of Gaza say anything about this or not? I think I know which way I'm answering.
